Biography
Amir Ofek joined the Israeli Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Cadet Course in 1995. His first posting was at the Israeli Embassy in Santiago, Chile where he served as Deputy Ambassador for three years from 1998 until 2001. Mr Ofek then returned to the MFA headquarters in Jerusalem where he became a member of the Division for Scientific & Cultural Affairs.
In 2003, he was appointed as Consul for Public Affairs to the Israeli Consulate General in New York where he worked for three years until 2006. In 2006, Mr Ofek was selected as Desk Officer responsible for Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Andorra and San Marino).
In September 2009, he joined the staff of the Embassy of Israel in London as Consul for Media Affairs.
