Biography: Gerald Ronson

GERALD RONSON is one of the most successful businessmen of his generation and one of the most respected developers in the UK; he is the most innovative and enigmatic international developer in the leisure industry.
Gerald started working with his father in the furniture business prior to joining Heron Homes, which became one of the biggest house builders in the South of England. In 1956 he founded Heron Group - now called Heron International Plc - of which he is Chief Executive.
Alongside his business interests, he is one of the most hardworking and generous philanthropists in the UK today. He has spent a lifetime raising money for a plethora of good causes and has led a number of significant charitable campaigns and organisations. Each week, 20% of his time is spent helping different charitable causes. Through the Ronson Foundation he has donated over £25 million and has recently set up 'The Gerald Ronson Foundation' to continue his philanthropic endeavours. In addition, he is directly responsible for raising over £5 million each year for the charities in which he plays a leadership role.

Biography: Tony Pidgley

TONY PIDGLEY, is the Chairman of The Berkeley Group plc and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Main Board.

Tony was educated at Secondary Modern School, leaving at the age of 15 to form his own company in haulage and plant hire. At 21, he sold his business to Crest Homes and became a Building Director reporting to the then Managing Director, Jim Farrer. In 1975 both Tony and Jim left Crest and formed Berkeley Homes Limited. The company enjoyed considerable growth over the following 10 years, enabling its flotation on the Unlisted Securities Market in 1984, gaining a full listing in 1985 as The Berkeley Group plc.

Tony has gained a national reputation for his pioneering approach to the home building industry. Under his guidance The Berkeley Group has become a leader in the business of urban regeneration, contributing to the renaissance of towns and cities throughout the country. Over 90% of the Berkeley Group's developments now take place on brownfield land and through its innovative use of land it has been able to play a key role in the provision of key worker, student and other affordable housing.

Tony's widely acknowledged entrepreneurial skills and his clear strategic vision have provided the impetus and expertise to turn The Berkeley Group into the significant public company that it is today.

Biography: Stephen Hubbard

STEPHEN HUBBARD joined CBRE in 1976 and is Deputy Chairman of UK and EMEA. Stephen is a member of the European Board and the UK Executive Board and has overall responsibility for Investment throughout EMEA. He is the Chairman of both the UK and European Capital Markets Groups and the Real Estate Finance Group.

He has been involved in much of the Cross Border Investment activity around Europe. He has developed through this work a detailed knowledge of all the principal global investment markets and an understanding of the drivers behind capital flows.

Through Stephen's leadership of both the UK and EMEA Capital Markets Groups he also is a member of the Management Team that coordinates and links up CBRE's global Investment teams in both the US and Asia.

Young UJIA engages young professionals (ages 21-35) with the work of UJIA through a series of social, educational and networking events and opportunities.
