British families celebrate Bar/Bat Mitzvot in Ethiopian styleTwenty two British families travelled to Israel to celebrate becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah with their Ethiopian "twins". Participants in the UJIA Ethiopian Bar/Bat Mitzvah Programme joined 40 Ethiopian families and over 300 guests for an emotional ceremony in Jerusalem where the children were blessed by the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yona Metzger.

Comedy for a good cause in ManchesterMancunians had a laugh for a good cause at a special comedy evening featuring Mark Maier, Bennett Arron and Jonathan Bentata. The night raised £16,000 for the After-School Enrichment Programme which provides tuition outside regular school hours for underprivileged children in northern Israel.

The UJIA Adam Science Foundation Leadership Programme, which has been described as the 'jewel in the crown' of leadership opportunities for the Anglo Jewish Community, held its 2008-09 graduation at UJIA's new Camden offices.
UJIA Trustees, Stakeholders, Mentors of the Programme and Adam Science Alumni also attended to share in the celebrations.
