As we approach the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, forgiving is often at the forefront of our minds. This year UJIA hopes that the UK Jewish community will take the opportunity for giving one step further.
The Kol Nidre / High Holy Day Appeal is one of the longest running community appeals and the UK's Jewish community's opportunity to come together in support of an array of projects and initiatives that will benefit local organisations, British Jewry as a whole and, of course, the people of Israel.
This year's Kol Nidre / High Holy Day Appeal introduces a new look logo and a fresh new strapline 'THE TIME TO GIVE TOGETHER' as well as the overriding message - Forgiving. The design is fresh and modern and the brainchild of creative agency, Creative & Commercial. The design clearly shows the now iconic toggle, which is used across many synagogues as a Yom Tov friendly method of charitable giving. Talking of the campaign Barry Frankfurt, Client Services Director at Creative & Commercial said, "The Kol Nidre Appeal campaign and its identity reflect the shofar calling out to the community, to come together in support of causes locally, nationally and of course in Israel."
This year, all participating synagogues, will present with the same look and feel, within each synagogue's specific appeal. This is the first time this has happened. It is hoped that this unique combined approach, with its clear message, will lead to increased donations for those that need it most.
Synagogue goers should look out for the posters that are currently being displayed across the community in synagogues, Jewish shops and synagogue magazines.
