Every year the UJIA invests in and supports the development of the young leadership of our community. As one year comes to a close and another begins, UJIA were busy working with volunteers and professionals from across the community, enabling and empowering them to inspire others with a positive Jewish Identity and meaningful relationship with Israel.
Two of UJIA Jewish Life Education Centre's training seminars took place recently, both bringing together leaders from all youth movements in a cross communal setting designed to challenge and inspire. Additional, we provide the platform for the youth of our community to model for the wider community the strength we have when we work together.
The first of these seminars was B'Derech (On the way) - a seminar for sixteen year olds, coming right off the heels of amazing and life changing UJIA Israel Experience programmes.
More than 35 of the most inspired and enthusiastic came together for three days to learn about the variety of 'ways' of being a leader for their youth movements and in the community.
They gained some of the key knowledge and skills to set them on their way to inspiring more young people, becoming Israel activities, and changing the world through social action.
Earlier this month UJIA JLEC hosted the second of these seminars in Israel, taking the young professionals who have dedicated a year to working full time for their youth movements.
This Chazon (Vision) seminar brought together the leadership of every movement, across the religious and political spectrum, to learn together with top speakers, train with our professional staff, and inspire them in Israel to shape their vision for the coming year.
As a fantastic example of what investing in young people and education really means - our community entrusts the welfare, development, and education of our young people to other young people - and UJIA is at the heart of providing the support needed to continue the success this model proves to be.
We recognise the responsibility these young people take on, effectively managing medium size businesses with huge turnovers and staff and volunteers in their dozens. Therefore, the seminar provided management and organisational consultancy, together with specific Informal Jewish Education training and development.
Whether just starting their the leadership journey, or committing their lives to it, wherever our community's young leaders are UJIA is behind them.
