On Mitzvah Day everyone can make their mark on the world. On Mitzvah Day, November 16th 2008 give your time, not money.
Projects are run by Mitzvah Day Partners; synagogues, schools, youth movements, communities, Jewish societies and other student groups and this year it's wonderful to welcome some non Jewish teams.
UJIA is proud to be a main partner in this event, and has committed to participate in the day by volunteering to stand outside shops and encourage people to buy extra food for the homeless and destitute.
Everyone is welcome to join in on Mitzvah Day, so come and get involved!
If you are available and willing to give an hour of your time on Sunday 16th November please contact Elaine Robinson to let her know 020 8369 5278 - we will arrange a time that best suits you!
Mitzvah Day was founded in 2005 in the UK with founding partner, the JCC for London based on Big Sunday in Los Angeles. Now an independent charity, Mitzvah Day UK encourages the practice of tzedek (righteousness), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness).
