The new Adam Science Foundation Leadership Programme held its launch evening for the 2008-09 cohort last night. The 10 participants met various different people involved in the foundation and UJIA, including one of the founders and original trustees of the Adam Science Foundation, Ashley Summerfield, who spoke of Adam Science's particular genius in creating programmes and opportunities for young professionals.
His sentiments were echoed by lay leaders James Libson and Richard Kneller who spoke of the privilege of being part of the programme and its place as the "jewel in the crown" of leadership opportunities for the Anglo Jewish community. The programme will see the 10 participants meeting high level professionals and lay leaders, engaging with the critical issues facing the community and creating a group project as well as an international seminar in Boston. Nicky Goldman, the UJIA's Leadership Development Director said: "the evening was a fantastic start to the programme - this year's group is incredibly talented and we are looking forward to an exciting year ahead."
We're behind the Adam Science Foundation
The Adam Science Foundation Leadership Programme is a year-long, part-time leadership development programme for people in their mid to late twenties. Each year, the ASFLP recruits 12 people from a diverse range of careers, religious affiliations and backgrounds, with the aim of helping them to acquire the skills and experience they need to become leaders in the Jewish community.
