Children at North Cheshire Jewish Primary School and their counterparts at Nof Galil School in Israel have participated in a joint Chanukiah-making project whereby pupils from both schools are making Chanukiot to display in their school. Photographs of the exhibition will be displayed in both schools and all the children who participated will receive certificates from the UJIA/Jewish Agency for Israel to mark their participation in the project.
The project is part of the on-going UJIA School-to-School twinning project which is now in its 4th year.
Sally Halon, Manchester UJIA UK Programme Director said "This has been a fun and creative way for the children and their families in both North Cheshire and Nof Galil to maintain their connection with their "twins". The quality of the exhibits at both schools has been outstanding."
This is part of UJIA's 'Living Bridge' programme. UJIA is the main facilitator of people-to-people contact between the UK Jewish community and the people of Israel, through young educational tours and exchange schemes.
