The UJIA Ashdown Fellowship Programme was founded in 2000 by the Educational Leadership Department of UJIA. The programme is aimed specifically at the most outstanding educators in our community today and since its inception UJIA Ashdown graduates now occupy many positions of leadership throughout the educational system. 58 Educators have participated in the Fellowship so far.
On Tuesday 20 January UJIA held an evening to celebrate the completion of the UJIA Fellowship 2003 -- 2005. This programme was unique for the Fellowship in that it was an MBA in Educational Leadership, run in conjunction with the University of Hull.
We are proud to announce that eight UJIA Ashdown Fellows have now completed the MBA, and two further students have achieved an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership.
The MBA programme was a combination of leadership / management modules taught by the excellent faculty at the University of Hull and modules in Jewish education. The latter included a course on 'Jewish Leadership Texts', taught by the distinguished scholar, Rabbi Dr Irving Jacobs and two modules taught by the Mandel Centre in Jerusalem on 'Visions of Jewish Education' and 'The Contemporary Jewish World'. The programme included overseas seminars both in Israel and in New York.

We're behind UJIA Ashdown Fellowship Programme
The UJIA Ashdown Fellowship programme was founded in 2000 by the Educational Leadership Department of UJIA. The aims of the Fellowship are to produce high quality professional leadership for British Jewish educational institutions, to create a collaborative network amongst professionals, and to enable the participants to learn from practice across the Jewish world. It gives participants time out during the year to learn from others in the same field and encourages them to become more reflective practitioners.
We're behind the people of the north of Israel; the future of British Jewry; young people and education, the 'Living Bridge'. We're behind you.
