UJIA Solidarity in the Community

UJIA welcomed over 150 people to a community event, 'Stand with the People of Israel' hosted by Stanmore Synagogue.

Rabbi Mendel Lew introduced the event and welcomed the guests to Stanmore Synagogue.

Guest Speaker was Talya Lador-Fresher, Deputy Israeli Ambassador who spoke about the current Israeli situation and the people of Israel. Ms. Lador-Fresher also took questions from the audience during a Q&A session chaired by event host, David Cohen.

The event also heard first-hand accounts from Ronnie Preston who had just returned from a UJIA Solidarity Mission, taking in the south and north of the country. Mr Preston also gave the fundraising appeal and made particular reference to the many lives UJIA funding has benefitted and thanked every supporter who had contributed to this achievement. The appeal saw the charity raise £14,500.

UJIA Fundraiser Adam Overlander-Kaye commented, "This show of solidarity demonstrates how closely connected UK Jewry feel with the people of Israel. UJIA is committed to strengthening these ties between the communities and we are delighted that so many people came to show their support."

We're behind the people of the north of Israel; the future of British Jewry; young people and education, the 'Living Bridge'. We're behind you.
