Mask Madness as school 'twins' celebrate Purim

North Cheshire Jewish Primary School and its UJIA 'twin' school, Nof Gail, northern Israel, are gearing up early for Purim.

Each class in each school has created a colourful Purim mask which will be proudly displayed on the walls of classrooms in their 'twin' school to celebrate the festival of Purim.

Norma Massel, who remains fully committed to the project despite her retirement as Head Teacher at North Cheshire, will deliver the masks when she visits Nof Galil School during half term. She will in turn collect the masks from Nof Galil which will then be displayed at North Cheshire on her return.

Sally Halon, Manchester UJIA UK Programme Director said, "This is a creative and fun way to maintain the connection, the 'Living Bridge', between the two schools. Creative, educational projects such as this mean that every child can contribute to the school 'twinning' regardless of whether they are able to visit their 'twins' in Israel. This is a great lead up to the parent-pupil delegation coming over from Nof Galil in April for Yom Ha'azmaut. Both schools are looking forward to the visit and further strengthening their strong bond."
