UJIA Leadership Event

UJIA hosted its third Annual Leadership Event with over 100 of its lay leadership in attendance.

The event has continued to grow in both attendance and quality of speakers and last night saw keynote speaker Matthew McGregor take to the floor. Matthew has over ten years experience of political campaigns, both in party politics and in advocacy campaigning and is the UK Director of Blue State Digital. He spoke about 'Winning Online' - How Obama's Campaign can be adapted for Britain.

Blue State Digital USA were retained by President Barack Obama to manage the online fundraising, constituency-building, issue advocacy, and peer-to-peer online networking aspects of his 2008 Presidential primary campaign.

Matthew was enlightening and inspiring as he told of the tactics employed by the Obama Campaign - seeking engagement from new donors and giving existing donors the tools to canvass better and more effectively.

The event, which was Chaired by UJIA Leadership Development Group Chairs Ruth Green and James Libson, also presented the opportunity to honour Sharman and Melvin Berwald for their dedication to UJIA in Chairing the UJIA magic moments committee and P2K.

UJIA Leadership Development Director Nicky Goldman commented, "Our lay leaders are our best advocates and are at the heart of our work. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all the hard work and energy they put into inspiring others and educating the community about our work."
