Ealing UJIA Committee Annual Event

The Ealing UJIA Committee which includes Marianne Temple, Barbara Young and Neil Shestopal held their Annual Campaign Evening on Sunday 1 March 2009.

70 guests attended including members of both Ealing United and Ealing Liberal synagogues and members from Finchley and Staines Synagogues. Rabbi Vogel of Ealing United was amongst the guests keen to show their support.

The event raised over £25,000 on the night (with an extra £17,500 donated after the event) for the new High School in Shlomi, a development town in the Galil, northern Israel.

Until as recently as last year there was no secondary school in this region.
UJIA's commitment to young people and education has seen the charity spearhead the creation of the first pluralist school, embracing both religious and secular students. This is a truly unique educational venture part of UJIA's long term strategy to regenerate the region.

Guest speakers included David Janner Klausner, Natie Shevel and Zac Gazit.
