UJIA Celebrates First Birthright Wedding!

UJIA Taglit-Birthright Israel is a FREE once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for 21-26 year olds who have never been on an organised programme in Israel.

Aimed at providing people with the chance to experience and understand more about the rich culture and history of Israel and the Jewish people -- this trip also provided a happy ending for two of its participants.

Rebecca (26) originally from Watford signed up for the trip as it "seemed like an opportunity too good to be true -- a free 10 day trip to Israel" and Daniel (24) originally from Berkshire was keen to extend his circle of Jewish friends. When asked if they thought finding love was a possibility they are quick to add, "it was the last thing on our minds!"

And it is not only a spouse that the programme has produced, both Birthright leaders, Ben Fraser and Lucy Mattison are now friends and were guests at the wedding.

Looking back on their Birthright experience and wedding day Daniel reminisces, "Birthright made us see how wonderful Israel is, we've been back many times now -- we even got engaged there! I can't recommend Birthright highly enough, it's amazing what they cram into 10 days, and for us it resulted in the happiest day of our lives. We certainly owe a lot to the programme!"

Taglit-Birthright Israel is the most extensive philanthropic Jewish outreach programme ever to target Jewish young adults. UJIA Taglit-Birthright Israel believes that it is every Jewish person's birthright to visit Israel. To date, over 200,000 young adults from across the world have travelled to Israel on the programme.
