UJIA Sports Dinner & Quiz 2009

This the UJIA Sports Dinner & Quiz once again returned to Wembley Stadium and the glorious Bobby Moore room with views of the famous pitch. Our host and quizmaster for the evening was none other than, ITV Sports, Matt Smith.

Now in its 11th year UJIA's Sports Dinner and Quiz offers the perfect opportunity to combine your support for UJIA with corporate or personal entertaining at a most enjoyable sporting evening that has become a highlight on the Jewish communal calendar.

Amongst the 400 guests were a number of sporting stars including James Cracknell OBE, Robbie Earle, Chris Cowdrey and Jo Ankier who said after the event, "Thanks to all at UJIA for a wonderful evening, I hope that substantial funds were raised to help this very important cause. Such a worthwhile program and I am happy to have been able to come a long and take part."

Following an appeal from Sports Group Chairman Jay Marks, a total of £216,000 was raised for disadvantaged young people in the Galil, northern Israel. Jay headed up the 12 strong committee - (Simon Johnson, Simon Bentley, Andy Rubin, Steven Neerkin, Martin Berliner, Richard Kneller, Tony Plaskow, Dan Levy, Jeremy Franks, Simon Taylor, Jamie Cassell and Paul Groman-Marks)

Thanks to JP Morgan Cazenove and BDO Stoy Hayward for sponsoring the event.
