We've moved...

UJIA is now operating from its new offices in Camden Town.

UJIA announced in March 2008 that it would be selling its Balfour House headquarters to move to more modern and better positioned offices. UJIA and many members of our community is saying goodbye to 30 years of memories, Jewish history and philanthropic activity in North Finchley.

To enable UJIA to move in a little over a year, UJIA drew on resources from its dedicated lay leadership. Trustees James Burchell and Geoffrey Ognall worked closely with Acquisition Agents, EPS London who were instructed to source the location.

"As a member of the Jewish community, I am delighted we were able to source such a fantastic property for UJIA. It's also great to see a charity capitalise on the current market conditions which should allow UJIA to invest valuable funds elsewhere over the next 5 years".

The move is a welcome change for UJIA, as Chief Executive Douglas Krikler explains:

"The move represents the final physical representation of a period of change UJIA has seen over the last 3 years. We now have a modern, brighter, welcoming and productive space. It is a vibrant space for the community with UJIA at its heart. We look forward to welcoming people to our new premises."

The new 9145 sq ft offices will better enable UJIA to deliver its mission at the heart of the community, and the proceeds from the sale of Balfour House present UJIA with an opportunity to invest these funds in a way which helps to further our capacity to deliver our programme, investing in young people and education in the UK and the Galil, northern Israel.

Further savings will be made by moving offices. UJIA has calculated that a saving of £500,000 will be made over the next five years.
