The 2009 Maccabiah Games brought excitement, action and edge-of-the seat moments to Israel once more. Now the athletes and their medals have returned home and UJIA can reflect on its first time as principal sponsor of the games, which saw over 7,000 people journey to Israel to compete in over 30 sports and cheer on their favourites.
Speaking about the sponsorship, UJIA Chief Executive, Douglas Krikler, said, "It was an exciting summer for UJIA as the principal sponsor of the Great Britain team attending the Maccabiah Games. It was a valuable opportunity to engage with the friends and family of the athletes whilst they were in Israel."
UJIA's sponsorship of the Games is part of an exciting partnership between UJIA and Maccabi GB that reflects our joint commitment to investing in young people and education in our community.
UJIA's strategy is a natural fit with the work of Maccabi GB with a programme built around young people and education, which it sees as the key to securing our future.
UJIA's funding of Maccabi GB helps us to bring you first class sporting and educational activities and programmes. Whether it is a summer tour to Israel or weekly sporting activities, UJIA is behind Maccabi GB - and UJIA is behind you.
