UJIA JAMS is a project of the UJIA Jewish Life Education Centre supporting young people in leading Jewish activities in mainstream secondary schools.
The project works with over 25 schools throughout the UK, and is regularly developing resources and programmes for more than 1000 pupils, enabling them to learn and teach each other about a wide range of Jewish topics.
As the work of UJIA JAMS expands we are delighted to welcome Jessie Schlagman to the team as the new UJIA JAMS Campus Fieldworker (in partnership with AJ6 and UJS). Her time will be spent working with sixth formers delivering a range of exciting, innovative projects and campus preparation activities in and out of schools. Jessie previously did movement work for Noam for 2 years coordinating their Israel programmes including gap year and Israel Tour.
She joins Neil Levitan, UJIA JAMS Project Manager and former Mancunian Shelley Turnberg, UJIA JAMS Fieldworker.
Neil is a qualified youth and community worker and is currently completing an MA in youth and community studies at Brunel University where he is researching informal interfaith education.
Shelley has experience of youth and movement work growing up with Bnei Akiva and taking numerous camps. Shelley grew up in Manchester and attended a non-Jewish school, which is why UJIA JAMS means a lot to her.
