UJIA JLEC 'Farewelcome'

UJIA's Jewish Life Education Centre welcomed over 60 people to its new camden offices for its annual 'Farewelcome' event. Guests included current and former movement and UJS workers, parents of the workers and community professionals.

The event gave the opportunity to say congratulations and farewell to last year's workers and say welcome to the new teams on board.

The keynote speaker for the event was Raymond Simonson, Director of Limmud, who spoke of the empowerment movement workers have and how in the external world people are amazed by the structures that the young people operate within.

The event started with a welcome by UJIA JLEC Director, Shelley Marsh, who spoke about the wonderful support parents, partners and friends give workers through their year and that without them movement and UJS workers would not be able function to their full potential.

UJIA JLEC team members, Naomi Russell and Anthony Ashworth-Steen, highlighted the different areas responsibility and activities that the workers will be involved in - from getting up at 7am to run a session in Glasgow, to managing budgets of thousands of pounds to helping to shape the future of the next generation of young people in the community.

After the Keynote speaker, Shelley Marsh presented the movement and UJS workers from the previous year with certificates, thanking and congratulating them for all their hard work in the community.
