UK Task Force on Arab Citizens of Israel is launched
The UK Task Force on Arab Citizens of Israel was recently established by some of British Jewry's leading organisations with the aim of increasing the Jewish community's understanding of, and engagement with, Israel's Arab population.
The Executive Committee of the UK Task Force comprises: UK Friends of the Abraham Fund Initiatives, The Board of Deputies of British Jews, New Israel Fund UK, The Pears Foundation, UJIA and The Zionist Federation.
UJIA chief executive, Douglas Krikler, joins Trevor Pears, executive chair of The Pears Foundation, as co-chair of the UK Task Force. They both commented:
"We are pleased to have established a broad based coalition of organizations supporting Israel which will help the Jewish community learn more about and play a proactive role in addressing issues facing Israel's Arab citizens."
The UK Task Force will work alongside the North American Inter-Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues which is composed of over 80 organisations, including the American Joint Distribution Committee, Ford Israel Fund, Hadassah Foundation and the Orthodox Union.
Vacancy: Coordinator, UK Task Force on Arab Citizens of Israel
Based at the Jewish Social Action Hub in West Hampstead, the coordinator will provide the UK Task Force with professional support and establish it as a new coalition. They will act as its professional secretariat and utilise their expertise to stimulate new ideas and connections. Responsibilities will include developing and implementing the strategy, preparing briefings and presentations and managing the budget.
