Over 80 leading figures from the Jewish community came together on 3 February 2010 to honour the lifetime achievement of UJIA president, Brian Kerner. On the occasion of his 75th birthday, guests celebrated Mr Kerner's work and contribution to the UK Jewish community at the event hosted by UJIA in Camden Town.
Head of Arsenal in the Community, Alan Sefton, presented Mr Kerner with a framed photograph and letter from Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, congratulating him on his achievements.
Speakers Mick Davis, UJIA chairman, and Irit Barash of Keren Hayesod were joined by guests including:
• Michael Goldstein, partner at Stoy Haward accountants
• Jonathan Kestenbaum, chief executive, NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts
• Daniel Levy, hotelier
• Geoffrey Ognall, chairman, Legal & Trade Financial Services
• Lee Scott, MP for Ilford North
• Poju Zabludowicz. CEO, Tamares Group.
Brian Kerner said:
"I am deeply honoured by this occasion. So many of these achievements would not have been possible without the tremendous professionals and lay leaders that I have worked with over the last 40 years."
