Britain's Ambassador Designate to Israel, Matthew Gould MBE, spoke to guests at the UJIA Patrons' Dinner about his expectations for taking on one of the biggest jobs in Britain-Israel relations (7 June 2010).
This event was held at Altitude 360 on the 29th floor of Millbank Tower in Westminster where over 130 guests enjoyed stunning views across London. The dinner was sponsored by Stenham whose chairman, Sean Melnick, welcomed guests. The event was attended by an array of key figures in the community and major supporters of UJIA and Mick Davis, UJIA chair, also gave an update on the organisation's projects in the Galil.
Guest speaker, Matthew Gould MBE, told UJIA Patrons how he is looking forward to his new role which begins in September, as well as speaking about Britain-Israel relations. He finished his speech with the following:
"UJIA's vision of Israel's future is one that the British Government shares. Of a country in which all its citizens have a stake and in which all citizens have rights. Where the vulnerable are protected, and where the communities talk and live in mutual respect. Where all live in peace.
"If at the end of my four years in Israel, with your help, I have done even the smallest amount to bring that vision just a little closer, then I will judge it a success."
