Mancunians had a laugh for a good cause when UJIA AMBA held a special Comedy Evening at the Radisson Blu Manchester Airport (Sunday 4 July 2010). Professional comedians took time out from their busy schedules on the national comedy circuit - Mark Maier, Bennett Arron and Jonathan Bentata - to take to the stage and deliver a side-splitting experience.
As well as enjoying a truly entertaining night of food and frolics, guests helped UJIA AMBA's continued support for the After-School Enrichment Programme in northern Israel, raising over £16,000. The programme provides tuition outside regular school hours for underprivileged children to boost their academic achievement and build self-esteem.
Nici Wertheim, UJIA AMBA chairwoman, said:
"As parents, we want to give our children the best that they can have. But many parents in northern Israel don't have the means or the time to do so. It's up to us to help families in these communities who are unable to provide for their children. By putting on this evening, the Manchester community enjoyed an evening of comedy for a good cause."
