Israeli Ambassador discusses Israel in the media with Y-UJIA

The Ambassador of Israel to the UK, HE Ron Prosor, spoke to a packed audience at a Y-UJIA educational evening on the topic of "Is Israel fighting a losing battle in the media?" Over 80 guests heard Mr Prosor speak and took part in a lively Q&A session at the event held at UJIA's Camden Town offices on Thursday 28 July.

The Ambassador talked about what he called the campaign of "delegitimisation, demonization and double standards" against Israel. Guests also heard how UJIA's work in the north of Israel is helping to transform communities by providing quality educational opportunities for the region's diverse citizens.

HE Ron Prosor told the audience:

"Is Israel fighting a losing battle in the media? The answer is no. Like Frank Lampard's goal in the World Cup, many of Israel's adversaries have crossed the line... The battle can be won if we work really hard."

Laurence Marshbaum, Y-UJIA Committee Co-chair, said:

"As young British Jews, we see it as our responsibility to ask the hard questions that we all feel when we are asked about Israel. Tonight's event gave us the opportunity to ask Israel's Ambassador, HE Ron Prosor, those questions in person and in doing so, helped to create a 'Living Bridge' between young Jews in the UK and Israel."
