UJIA AMBA Committee raises £2,000 for education in Israel
The UJIA AMBA Committee held yet another successful Ladies' Pampering Night on Wednesday 17 November 2010, raising £2,000 for the UJIA Educational Achievement and Enrichment Programme which provides after school care and informal education for underprivileged children in the Galil, northern Israel.
The event held at Hale Synagogue in Altrincham, Cheshire saw more than 100 ladies enjoy a range of health and beauty treatments including nail polishing, Reiki, head and back massage and threading. They also enjoyed a glass of wine, sushi and light refreshments. The evening was kindly sponsored by Spire Health Care.
Nici Wertheim, UJIA AMBA Chair, commented:
"Thanks go to my Committee of "doers", whose hard work and commitment made the night such a success. A friend of mine told me after three years of attending this event, this year was the best yet. Not only did she get her nails done, eyebrows tinted and buy two fabulous hats, she helped raise money for a really worthy cause: enabling young people in Israel to get the education they deserve. Our aim is to make next year's event even better."
