Volunteers help make Supersized fundraising telethon a real success
Volunteers from across the community helped UJIA hit its target of raising £100,000 for young people in the UK and northern Israel. Over 100 people donated their time to take part in two Super Super Sunday telethons to raise money for UJIA's programmes.
This year, UJIA Supersized its Super Sunday fundraising telethon by running two events two weeks apart (Sunday 28 November and 12 December 2010) at the charity's Camden Town offices. UJIA staff were joined by families from across London and Essex, members of the UK's Jewish Youth Movements, as well as parents of teenagers who took part in UJIA Israel Experience tours this summer. To help Supersize the amount raised, anyone who increased their donation this year had their contribution matched pound-for-pound by an anonymous donor.
David Goldberg, UJIA Fundraising Director, commented:
"This year we Supersized our Super Sunday telethon to make it bigger than even before - and raise more money for young people in the UK and northern Israel. A huge thank you is due to everyone who volunteered their time to help us reach our super target of £100,000."
