UJIA Celebrates New Business Chair

UJIA welcomes lawyer, Jonathan Morris, as the new chair of its Business Division. Jonathan, who has been involved with UJIA for many years, joins the charity in a lay capacity this month where he will oversee the prestigious business arm of the charity.

Jonathan grew up in a family that was heavily involved in the organisation, cementing his dedication to Israel at a young age. Since then he has gone on to remain connected to Israel on both a professional and personal basis. He is a partner at law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner, specialising in corporate finance, as well as chairing the firm's Israel desk. Jonathan is also a board member of the British-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

He takes over from Simon Sadie, who has worked tirelessly over the past few years to set up and establish the division and its flagship event the Yom Ha'atzmaut Business Breakfast. UJIA's Business Division brings together leading companies and business people who collaborate and raise vital funds for UJIA's Israel and UK programmes.

I have many fond childhood memories of working with UJIA - starting off as a boy helping to stuff envelopes for the fundraising appeals. I never imagined that over thirty years later I would be chairing the Business Division! I am looking forward to bringing new and exciting opportunities to UJIA and its supporters and to helping the division grow even further."
