KEF puts the fun back into Manchester

The Jewish social scene in the North is back. KEF - a new committee from UJIA aiming to put the fun back into Manchester - held its official launch event, 'Zest', at Lime Bar, Salford Quays on Saturday 9 April 2011. Over 300 young professionals attended the event which raised £3,000 to support UJIA's educational programmes in the UK and northern Israel.

The social scene for 20 and 30-somethings in and around Manchester has been quiet over the past year, and UJIA KEF - inspired by the Hebrew word for 'fun' - intends to fill the gap.

Gary Freeman, chair of the UJIA KEF Committee, said:

"It was wonderful to see so many people celebrate the launch of KEF. To ignite the Jewish social scene in the North, we will be putting on parties, fascinating speakers, sports events and much more. We want to create something special and add a touch of zest to the lives of Manchester's young professionals. Watch this space..."
