More than 100 participants heard from Professor Gerald Grace, Director of the Centre for Research and Development in Catholic Education at the Institute of Education, London University, as he spoke of the constant need for research and evaluation in faith based education. Professor Grace gave the keynote address at the UJIA UK Annual Conference on Research in Jewish Education. Participants then chose from more than 20 presentations, which included baseline research in Jewish primary schools for global and development education from Libby Burkeman and Ruth Newman at Tzedek, The analysis of the 2011 Adult education Limmud International Study, by Dani Serlin, Limmud International co-ordinator, and a panel workshop on Research methods, led by Dr. Roy Graham, Jewish Community Centre for London, Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz, London School of Jewish Studies and Jonathan Boyd, Institute of Jewish Policy Research.
Conference organiser, Dr. Helena Miller, Director of Research and Evaluation at UJIA, said "the increase in research based projects and the high quality of presentations offered to this conference really shows that the UK is beginning to occupy an increasingly central position within the international research community's analysis of Jewish Education."
