The first batch of 16-year-olds on these exciting programmes departed this week on their three-week tour to learn about Jewish life, culture and history on an educational visit of a lifetime. This year, about 1,230 are taking part, an estimated 55% of Jewish 16-year-olds in the UK. Our community is a world leader in arranging these types of educational visits.
Only the highest quality madrichim (leaders) are given the chance to take an Israel Experience summer tour, and they are carefully selected from youth leaders - from across the youth movement spectrum, from Ezra to LJY-Netzer. UJIA funds all madrichim training as well as supporting the educational, logistical and welfare elements of the tours.
