This year a delegation of over 100 Israeli teenagers, from UJIA's partnership region, the Galil, will take part in the programme across 14 UK communities. The week long programmes includes Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut.
The programme is packed with activities giving the teenagers the chance to visit chederim, schools and community centres, with the aim of building and strengthening life-long ties between them and their British counterparts - a real 'living bridge'.
The highlight of the UJIA Magic Moments programme is the Yom Hazikaron / Yom Ha'atzmaut ceremony, prepared and led by the Israeli teenagers. This evening presents a great opportunity for cooperation between the Israelis and the local youth who take part in the ceremony. During the evening the Israeli teenagers meet with the entire host community and together they share an emotional, memorable event, important to Jewish people both in Israel and the Diaspora.
A Welcome Brunch on Monday 5 May 2008 will officially open the UJIA Magic Moments week, with the Farewell Brunch, closing activities on Monday 12 May 2008.
The UK communities that are involved are: Borehamwood & Elstree, Bushey, Kingston, Radlett, Muswell Hill, Pinner, Stanmore, Northwood, Chigwell, Maidenhead, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, and Manchester.
