A new campus to strengthen the community
The Faculty of Social Science and Humanities is a central part of a new campus being built at Tel Hai Academic College.
A short drive from the border town of Kiryat Shmona, Tel Hai Academic College has already established itself as both a centre of academic excellence and the largest employer in the Upper Galil. By providing economic and educational opportunities, the college significantly contributes to the quality of life in this socio-economically disadvantaged area.
UJIA is building a three-floor Social Sciences Faculty - known as "Building 5" - which will teach over 2,300 students when it opens in October 2011. As well as benefiting from its state-of-the-art facilities, students will be able to enjoy the college's unique student body which includes Jews, Arabs, Druze and Circassians. The college takes pride in the diversity of its students and staff, who provide a model of coexistence for the rest of the country.
The college already attracts 80 per cent of its students from outside the Galil. As demand continues to grow, the new faculty will encourage more people to make their home in the Galil and help stem migration to Israel's densely-populated coastal plain.
