One of Israel's major challenges is the vast numbers of young adults who are not employed.
While economic conditions are a contributing factor, in many cases, young adults are unable to even search for work due to their lack of formal education and/or lack of life skills that would enable them to enter the job market.
Arabs, women, ultra-orthodox and new immigrants are among the highest members of this population, which can be a tremendous resource for the Israeli economy and society.
Based on successful models in the USA and UK known as "Hizdamnut", the course is an Israeli initiative that prepares young adults with the life skills necessary to enter the job market.
Emphasis is placed on responsibility and presentation with ongoing follow up with graduates to ensure high success rates. UJIA will fund a feasibility project to bring Hizdamnut to the Galil.
We hope in the following year to launch the programme in the region.
