In 2008-09 we raised £15.1 million for our programmes in Israel and the UK. To find out more about fundraising or getting involved with UJIA please contact our Fundraising Director David Goldberg.
What percentage is spent on running costs?
The continuing strength of our income has ensured that, along with our partners, we continue to make a substantial contribution to a variety of programmes both in Israel and the UK.
We have undertaken a conscious effort to control and manage our campaign activities and governance costs. Our current overheads come in at 14.5% of total expenditure, meaning that over 85p of every pound spent reaches the beneficiaries of our programme.
How much money goes to Israel and how much to the UK?
The breakdown of our spending is as follows:
55% Israel programmes 37% UK programmes 8% Community programmes
How can I get involved with UJIA?
Without the efforts and commitment of our volunteers and supporters, we would not be able to perform our vital work. Bringing energy and expertise to UJIA, our dedicated volunteers in the UK and Israel ensure that we are able to work effectively with young people and communities.
As resources for our programmes become increasingly stretched, getting involved with UJIA as a volunteer has never been more important.
If you are able to donate your time, skills or services, we would love to hear from you:
Could you spend a few hours a fortnight helping out in one of our offices in any of the areas of our work?
Would you like to be on one of our event committees, focussing on fundraising, education or strategic planning?
Are you able to host committee meetings in your office or home?
Our askers are as important as our donors - would you be interested in canvassing over the telephone or in person for donations?
