Bill Benjamin has been the Chairman of the UJIA since the beginning of 2013. Bill is also on the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC). From 2008-2012, he served as Co-Chairman of the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues. He has also served as a member of the JLC's Commission on Jewish Schools and its subsequent implementation group and as a trustee of JCoSS.
Professionally, Bill is a founding partner of AREA Property Partners, a global private equity firm specialising in commercial real estate. A native of the United States, Bill moved to London in 2001 to open the office for his firm and he oversees its European and Asian activities. Prior to AREA, he worked in the real estate finance group of Bankers Trust Company in New York.
Bill graduated from Harvard College and has a masters degree in business from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Director of the Ambassador Theatre Group, the largest producer of live theatre in the world.
Bill is married and has three children.
