So what’s it all about?
Since summer 2005 Young UJIA has developed the way it works with more committees and events supporting the work of UJIA. From networking, media, the world of business, property, social and sporting the UJIA has a place for you to be involved. There are several active committees that put on events for different work sectors but there is also the opportunity to get involved in one off events that cater to all interests
The Business Forum (TBF)
The Business Forum is a fundraising group aimed at young business professionals and entrepreneurs. It was formed in 2006 by a group with the aim of creating a dynamic environment within which other young business-minded professionals can stimulate their personal development, enhance their transferable skills and build a strong network of contacts.
Over the last 2 years, the business forum has put on 5 very successful events at various venues around the city, with a wide range of interesting speakers. The next step for TBF is to put on a successful fundraising dinner and establish them as the UK’s leading young business networking group.
Jewish Media Network (JMN)
The Jewish Media Network launched in September 2006 and was set up to give people across the media industry an opportunity to network, further their professional development and raise some money for charity. The Network attracts people from across the sector including public relations, advertising, marketing, journalism, public affairs and broadcasting.
JMN’s first event focused on the advertising industry and its second event focused on journalism. Both were attended by more than 70 people, and launched the Jewish Media Network as the ultimate networking events. We are now in the process of planning 2 events for 2008.
Young Property Group
The Young Property group is an established Young UJIA group. It provides a forum for young Jewish people working in all areas of property including; Commercial and Residential Property Surveyors, Fund Managers, Lawyers, Property Financiers, Commercial and Residential Agents and more.
Its ever growing events enable networking and the forming of new contacts in the property industry, with many lucrative property deals and transactions having been achieved as a result! The Committee is responsible for hosting at least two events a year. Its annual bar night attracts over 150 guests and the Committee's Annual Dinner raised an impressive £17,000 in 2007.
Young UJIA Events
Sports
Every year more than 20 teams challenge for the 5-a-side football title at the Mill Hill Powerleague. This competition has attracted some of the best players from the Sunday League Premiership. This is a great opportunity for everyone to fulfill their dreams of glory in the football arena, and also raise some much needed funds for UJIA programmes.
This year we also hope to add a netball tournament and Golf Day to the repertoire of sporting events.
Social
Young UJIA is always looking for interesting events to put on that the rest of the community does not cater for. From film screenings and interesting talks to fantastic parties and one off special events; Young UJIA is always looking for people with creative ideas and the know how to put together a fantastic event.
