Young UJIA engages hundreds of young professionals with the work of UJIA through a series of social, educational, networking and fundraising events. We provide a place for people aged 21-35 to contribute to the UK Jewish community and the people of Israel - to have their say and get involved. Previous events have included an audience with Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks, a beach party at the award-winning Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire and a business networking wine-tasting evening hosted by BDO Stoy Hayward.
There are six dynamic groups under the Young UJIA umbrella:
Networking committees
• The Business Forum presents exclusive panels and networking events for young people across the business community. (Chair: Alex Waiman.)
• The Jewish Media Network (JMN) brings together Jewish professionals working in the media, from newspapers and magazines, to television, PR, publishing and advertising. (Co-chairs: Emma Barnett and Stephanie Thwaites.)
• The Young Property Group holds exclusive networking events and hosts high profile speakers to bring together young people in the property industry (Chair: Jonathan Moradoff.)
Social and educational committees
• Y-UJIA is open to the whole community, hosting a range of social and educational events. (Co-chairs: Deborah Berwald and Laurence Marshbaum.)
• Young UJIA Shalom is dedicated to welcoming people from across the UK and across the globe into the heart of the London Jewish community. (Co-chairs: Carmel Brown and Paula Lejbowicz.)
UJIA Young Patrons Committee
• By becoming a UJIA Young Patron, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in Israel and the UK. In recognition of your personal contribution, you will be invited to exclusive events and have the opportunity to meet UJIA's Trustees, Patrons and other high-profile members of the community.
